M.O.M.E. - Clothing Exchange

 

This is a free event that happens every 2nd Saturday of each month in the Fellowship Hall at Milton United Methodist Church.  The idea came about with two of our church moms who wanted to provide clothing (at no cost) for local families.  "It came about with the idea of being a mother of four, providing clothing for my children and others I knew were in need.  I had always attended one or two different clothing giveaways, but not in the Milton Community.  So starting a clothing exchange in Milton seemed to be a good idea!  We started in February 2011 and have been growing since.  The first month (Feb) we helped 8 families.  In the month of September we have helped 86 families!  This is different from any other exchange, meaning we tell people to, 'Bring a bag and take a bag or two.'"  said, Jolyn - one of the founding moms. 

 

The reason for the exchange is to give the ability in any household to use their money in other ways other than purchasing clothing. We offer Men’s; Women’s; Teens; Maternity, and a large variety of Children’s clothing.

 

 

Set up for the exchange happens on the 2nd Friday from 6pm - 8pm

The exchange itself happens on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 4pm-7pm
